AWANA is a Bible club for boys and girls age preschool through high school. Calvary Church hosts Cubbies, Sparks, Truth & Training (T&T), and C-Track AWANA club meetings are Wednesdays at 6:00 pm during the school year.
Cubbies, designed for children who are in the two years prior to beginning kindergarten, includes Bible stories and lessons, Bible memorization, play time, games, awards, and fun activities. Cubbies study basic Bible truths along with popular preschool concepts. The Cubbies material especially lends itself to parental guidance and involvement.
Each year Cubbies will begin with the "Apple Acres" entrance booklet, which provides sample "Bear Hugs" (Cubbies name for a handbook section) and basic information about the Cubbies program.
After the Apple Acres booklet, for the 2015 to 2016 year, Cubbies will proceed to the AppleSeed handbook. Each week a "Bear Hug" section will be reviewed and checked at club. A schedule will be provided at registration.
Cubbies will have a 20 minute Game Time each club night with our Games Director. Games played are age appropriate, well supervised, and noncompetitive.
Whether it's fun puppets, the exciting games, or all their Cubbies friends, your preschooler will love attending Cubbies club meetings!
T&T is designed for third through sixth grade boys and girls. Your child will have an exciting time studying God’s Word with fun activities, materials, and awards using a new contemporary look. Exciting activities include Store night and many silly theme nights that may require some creative costumes!
T&T Clubbers in third and fourth grade will be in the Ultimate Adventure Club. They begin with the Adventure Start Zone entrance book (free) and then proceed to Book One of the Ultimate Adventure Series. After completing the handbook, they will proceed to Book Two.
T&T Clubbers in fifth and sixth grade will be in the Ultimate Challenge Club. They begin with the Challenge Start Zone entrance book (free) and then proceed to Book One of the Ultimate Challenge Series. After completing the handbook, they will proceed to Book Two.
Children in kindergarten, first grade, or second grade love learning about God’s Word with the help of “Sparky,” the fun firefly character and his friends Chloe, Joel and Jacob, who encourage and motivate children through handbook achievements.
If your child begins the Awana Sparks program as a kindergartner, they will start with the Flight 3:16 entrance book (free) and then proceed to the HangGlider Handbook. After completion of the handbook, Sparkies will follow this extra credit plan: review the HangGlider Handbook or do the extra credit cards that can be ordered at an addition fee.
If your child begins the Awana Sparks program as a first grader, they will also start with the Flight 3:16 entrance book (free), proceed to the HangGlider Handbook, and then also complete the WingRunner Handbook. After completion of both handbooks, they will follow this extra credit plan: review the WingRunner Handbook.
If your child begins the Awana Sparks program as a second grader, they will also start with the Flight 3:16 entrance book (free), complete the HangGlider Handbook, proceed to the WingRunner Handbook, then finish the SkyStormer Handbook. After completion of all three handbooks, they will follow this extra credit plan: review the SkyStormer Handbook.
C-Track (C for Citation award and College scholarship program) is a plan enabling teens to continue in Awana past T&T even though their church does not offer Trek or Journey clubs. The goal of C-Track is to allow teens to complete the handbooks one-on-one with an adult mentor at the church.
